When I was younger, Thanksgiving was my least favorite holiday. I wasn't that much of a fan of turkey, I wasn't big on sitting at a table for hours, and I definitely wasn't favoring holidays that didn't include presents. ;) Since then, my preferences have changed. I am now a huge fan of Thanksgiving- especially since I live so far away from my family & it allows me to travel to visit them at least this time of the year. I mean, it feels like it was just yesterday I packed up my things in West Virginia and moved to Florida, but here we are, just hitting over our year & a half mark. One question I'm frequently asked is what I eat on a typical day-to-day basis. Sure, recipes are great, but many people want to know the more simple meals I munch on throughout the day. One series I began is my Instagram Round Up (catch up on series 1 & series 2!) but I thought if I did a simple "What I Ate on Wednesday" series, that would help to see what I ate from start to finish that day to give you some ideas. So, it's been an average of 103 degrees in Florida this past week (I wish I was making that atrocious number up), and therefore, my body is actively rejecting solid foods. Just last Thursday, I came home from work & at 5:30 pm it was still over 90 degrees. NOPE. I thew on my bathing suit, grabbed the book I was currently reading, and hit the pool. I realize not alllll of you have Instagram [although I'm extremely obsessed with it and don't understand how not everyone can not be ;) ], so I thought I'd share with you all some of my simple go-to's I typically reserve for my Insta! I have a bit of an obsession with oatmeal. Umm, do you recall this chocolate peanut butter cup or this chocolate covered strawberry recipe??? (drooool). My staple breakfast is most likely oats. This is a cup of plain old fashioned oats cooked in water.   When the weather begins to heat up, my food & drink preferences change. I no longer crave cooler weather comfort foods like soup or heartier meals, such as chili (even though it's delish). I begin to migrate towards salads, smoothies, iced coffee, cold wraps, hummus inspired dishes, lighter choices for everyday snacking, and plenty of fruits in different varieties! Everyday Eats & My Starbucks Order!

Starbucks will always have my heart. In high school, my brother worked as a barista and would always bring me back my favorite coffee order (venti iced chai or grande hot white chocolate mocha)! Since then, my order has changed up a bit after becoming more health conscious. (Not saying I never sneak in a white chocolate mocha or chocolate croissant from time to time..) My new favorite go-to is a Venti Iced Coffee with Coconut Milk & 6 Pumps Chai. I can never stray too far from my original love.. ;) Did you know that the iced coffee has the highest levels of caffeine on their entire menu? (Caffeine = life).
